College Introduction

The Post Graduate College was established in July 1957 in Ghazipur, a city famous for its historic and ancient glory, situated on National Highway-29, 75 km east of Varanasi. This college is situated in Ravindrapuri (Gora Bazar), three kilometers south of Ghazipur City Railway Station. This postgraduate college is affiliated to Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur. This college also has study centers of Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi and UP Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Allahabad. All academic activities are conducted and completed under the ordinances, rules, regulations and acts and curriculum of these universities. There are a total of five faculties in the college. The UP government, while making a policy to improve higher education, has decided that 10 financed and 10 government colleges should be developed as model colleges. It is a matter of pride for us that our college has also been included in the list of UP colleges. The government has given it a prominent place in this list. To verify the high educational level of the institution and the facilities available in the campus, the peer team nominated by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore, constituted under the aegis of UGC, inspected the college thoroughly on 26, 27 and 28 February 2006 and awarded the college with B++ grade. Efforts are being made to improve the activities of the college as per the report of the peer team and the suggestions of the team members. In this sequence, some new committees have been formed. The college campus is equipped with Wi-Fi facility. Computer facilities are available in almost all the departments. A great driving force behind the establishment and development of the college is the founder/institution secretary/manager of the college, Late Rajeshwar Prasad Singh ji, who remained associated with the development of the college till his last breath with his unbreakable will to live. Keeping pace with the changing times, the college management has handed over the reins of the college to a person of multifaceted personality and High Court advocate Shri Ajit Kumar Singh. Due to his efforts, the college is rapidly progressing on the path of progress.
